Objectives

Upon completing this module, the participant will:

• understand how Skype and Google Docs can be effectively used for collaboration
• utilize a tutorials to obtain accounts and get started with Skype and Google Docs

 

 

Activities

1. View an online resource for IM/Chat Tools which is what Skype is:
   • Go to http://distance.nmsu.edu/externals/plunge/chat/index.html
   • Make sure to go through the Introduction, Quickstart, Resources, and Uses sections.
2. Download and follow the Skype Tutorial.

Google Docs & Spreadsheets

1. View an online resource for Wikis, which is the concept behind Google Docs:
   • Go to http://distance.nmsu.edu/externals/plunge/wikis/uses.html
   • Make sure to check out the Introduction, Resources, and Uses sections.
2. Download and follow the Google Docs tutorial.
