Lesson 2: Online Course Module
Overview
Now that you have envisioned a course outline, it's time to envision your course modules. Modules are the chunks you divide your course into. Notice that our modules have units and lessons. What do your modules look like?
Standards, Benchmarks, and Learning Objectives
In this Unit, we're indirectly addressing almost all of the SREB Standards for Quality Online Teaching and Quality Online Courses simultaneously simply by uncovering and discussing our assumptions about online teaching and online courses. Please review the SREB Standards for Quality Online Teaching and Quality Online Courses which are listed in the content module after this lesson.
To help you meet those standards, we must define a set of specific learning objectives. So, for this lesson, you will:
- Utilize socio-constructivist acivities and synthesize your learning experiences by creating an online course module.
- Analyze other online course modules to support and promote individual and group understanding of instructional design.
